Welcome to Bird Alert!

Bird Alert is a hobby project I made so that I could get more customizable alerts about bird observations on eBird

What this app can do:

• Create alerts for individual hotspots or hotspots and personal locations within custom geographic areas (like locations within 1 mile of your house)
• Set up alerts either for rare birds, your new lifers, or specific species or any combination.
• Set your own custom rarity threshold based on the location
• Alert frequencies range from every 15 minutes to daily (you receive emails only when there are relevant observations)
• Note that this app works for hotspots and personal locations in any country.

How it works:

1. Set up your alert preferences, including locations, bird species, and frequency.
2. The app regularly checks the eBird database using their API.
3. When a matching observation is found, it sends you an email alert.

Getting Started:

1. Create an account or log in
2. Set up your first alert by clicking on "Create Alert" in the dashboard
3. Optionally, upload your life list to enable alerts for new lifers
4. Start receiving customized bird alerts!
